Is it just me, or perhaps you’ve noticed decor becoming increasingly…theatrical? This has manifested in wink-and-nod products bordering on satire. I’m thinking about Seletti’s giant Bic pen light or fashion-mimicking items like Oeuvre Sensibles’ Clothing Curtains, which were just mentioned in a NYT article about designers making home items to resemble clothing.
Next up is jewelry-adjacent design, bringing new levels of adornment that feel both lighthearted and precious. There’s a lot of pearls going on—both real and faux. Some gemstones. And then there are pieces from designers who move fluidly between homegoods and jewelry. Let’s take a look!
Completedworks Faux Pearl Napkin Ring Set
At $215, I’m going to say these are extremely overpriced. But I love the idea. I’m not going to say you could DIY this, but…you could DIY this.
Llewellyn Chupin Chair
From the French designer’s “Rituals of Adornment” collection, this aluminum chair features a quartet of dangling natural pearls. This would be the sickest vanity chair, don’t you think?
Ludovic Clément d’Armont Pearl Necklace Light
He also makes a similar light fixture assembled in a circle—like a pearl bracelet.
Rosie Li Jewel Block Table Lamp
For this decadent light fixture, Rosie Li employs “custom pressed-glass lenses, each held in brass castings reminiscent of gemstone settings.”
San Diego Hardware Freya Gemstone Double Hook
San Diego Hardware makes this solid brass hook that holds two quartz crystals. But wait, there’s more! You can also choose from rose quartz, malachite, lapis lazuli, and amethyst.
Studio Ebur Giza Suspension Light
Another piece featuring four pearls. It’s giving opium den-chic.
Gohar Lace Coasters
The Gohar sisters have long been dabbling in mother of pearl tableware. Now in: coasters adorned with freshwater pearls.
Studio Sarah Castay
This lamp by Parisian designer Sarah Castay looks like it’s wearing an earring! Je l’adore.
Sophie Buhai Four Eyes Votive
Sophie Buhai’s main thing is jewelry, but she does make some very specific (and very pricey) homewares. This votive is one of them, and it truly looks like a silver cuff bracelet.
Heath Wagoner Black Pearl Cocktail Picks
If I bought these, I’m pretty sure I’d also use them in my hair.
Alora Lighting Petra Chandelier
Chandelier? Or giant necklace?
Pamela Love x G. Pajolec Knobs
A great example of a jewelry designer (Pamela Love) crossing over into decor.
Completedworks Vase With Pearls
Completedworks (same people who did the green pearl napkin rings) have a number of vases adorned with either strands or bows of pearls. Some vessels feature faux pearls, but this one offers freshwater pearls.
