Here at Schmatta, we generally try to avoid mass decor media headlines/stories. Today is a bit of an exception because I’ve just come across so many interesting ways people are hiding their TVs (or using projectors very cleverly).
Apparently, placing a television in one’s home is quite fraught. In fact, there is an entire Reddit thread called TVTooHigh that’s all about, well, I think you can guess.
In our home, our TV is on full display. (And, if I may say, at the perfect height.)
We have the Samsung Frame which allows you to display art when not in use/we also bought a basic magnetic frame to make the TV look even more art-like, but there are many fancier options out there. (I recommend searching Etsy for “Samsung TV frames.”) Visitors to our home are shocked, SHOCKED, I tell you, when we tell them it’s not a piece of art, but a TV. (Once you live with the Frame for a few days, though, the mysterious glow kind of gives it away.)
(P.S. If you’re looking for more stuff I have in my house, it’s all right here.)
One more thing must be said: These days, the California Nouveau Riche like to hide their TVs in the floor, with a magical skinny elevator that lifts the television up at the foot of your bed. Do not do this.
Anyhoo. Without further ado…just some fun ways to hide your TV:
