Good morrow to all ye subscribers!
It’s time for another edition of Good Schmutz, my roundup of what’s cool and new in design. Allez-y!
#1: Glass bricks have been making some subtle comebacks, but I’ve yet to see them incorporated into furniture — until now. Sophie Colle’s brief for these tables was: “Not too minimal, not too maximal, perfectly postmodern, and NOT boring!” Love.
#2: Magsi actually came up as a sponsored post in my IG feed. The pitch? A light switch that you can mount without minimal installation. V renter-friendly.
#3: I am continually impressed by Punchworld, a female-founded design firm. This window treatment is beyond — and, of course, custom.
#4: When I saw this article about Amy Sedaris’s guest house, I had a “Why didn’t I think of that?” moment: a dollhouse built into a fireplace. Next level.
#5: A very stripe-y kids’ room.
#6: In my last installment of The Besty of Etsy, y’all went nuts over the Murano glass purse I found. So here is a selection of others available to you now!
From left to right:
#7: While not completely new, I was recently tipped off about Morrow Soft Goods’ Yara collection. So unapologetically ‘70s! So good.
#8: Sophie Lou Jacobsen’s new candleholder is hitting me with the feels — design with vintage inspiration, simplified.
#9: Sundays’ new nightstand is decidedly ‘80s — in the best way.
